About DGG

The Derwenthorpe Governing Group and its subcommittees.

Derwenthorpe Governing Group was established in 2019 by JRHT and the DRA. It consists of five JRHT staff, and five members elected by residents.

Its purpose is to govern the Derwenthorpe site in the best interest of its residents. The full terms of reference are available from our DGG folder on Dropbox.

DGG is chaired by Nicky Helliwell dgg.chair@derwenthorpe.co.uk

2019 elections (first committee): Nicky Helliwell (chair), Ian Eiloart, Phill Jenkins, Sachin Mehta, and Ignazio Cabras were elected for a term of one year, but COVID delayed the next elections ’til 2021.

2021 elections (second committee): Danielle Wood, Matt Gardner, Mike Wardle, Nicky Helliwell, and Steven Burkeman were elected unopposed, to serve until 2024.

Sub-committees of DGG.

Derwenthorpe Partnership Advisory Committee (“DPAC”) is a joint meeting of residents, our neighbours, JRHT and City of York Council, which oversees development issues and the “community fund” grants.

A Brighter Community: Derwenthorpe (“ABC:D”) is a residents working group to develop community facilities.
