We’ll be out and about again with the JRHT gardening team on Wednesday 27th, Thursday 28th and Friday 29th October, from 10.00 am until 1.00 pm, meeting at the energy centre. This time we’ll be helping with some more nature-based tasks. On Wednesday, we’ll be mulching some of our lovely trees on Stephenson and Lotherington. We’ll be helping with and learning about hedge management for wildlife along the hedge on St Aelreds Mews on Seebohm on Thursday. And on Friday, we’ll be helping with the management of the buddleia around Lotherington pond, which is important for butterflies and moths. If you have secateurs, loppers, and hand trowels and forks, then bring them along, though the gardening team will have some spares. Wear gloves, and a kneeler might be useful.
Everyone is welcome! Drop in for as long, as little, as often as you want. You’ll find a phone number in the window of the energy centre ~ if you come along later and can’t find us, just phone. Or for any more information about this or the nature group in general, please contact Wendy by emailing naturegroup@derwenthorpe.co.uk
